The moon also has holes on it, and giant tubes created by lava hundreds of millions of years ago. Surely humans will wish to do a little rock climbing, bungee jumping, and other extreme endeavors there. Further, there will be orbiting space hotels and colonies as well, and in zero gravity there are all kinds of fun things humans can do in the way of sports. And as you know humans will always find a way to entertain themselves, so you can bet they will try.

The one that can be controlled by the person on the jumping stilts of course are the performing conditions i.e. the type of surface, and the choice to perform or not in adverse weather conditions. With these last two controllable elements, the ‘extreme’ part of using jumping stilts makes them a ‘safer’ form of extreme sports.

What do I mean by controllable. Well the big one of course is the weather. If you are snowboarding and you get dumped on by a snow storm and then the possibility of an avalanche, the performing conditions have changed and the choice to perform or not is elementary if you’re up a mountain when it happens! So in this case, extreme means exactly what it says on the tin! If it rains or turns icy then the choice to continue using your jumping stilts or not can be made under less stressful conditions and without any life threatening issues.

It is a bold statement to make that Skydiving is the number 1 of all extreme sports but many would say that it certainly is a heart-pumping, thrill seekers activity that is becoming more and more popular.

The term extreme sport is a fairly general term and actually covers a wide range of various sports and activities most of which include something to do with speed, heights and with a high level of adrenalin associated with it.
